Responsibilities
Analyze and summarize large volumes of legal documents, identifying key information for case strategy.
Manage multiple insurance defense cases from inception to resolution, adhering to carrier guidelines.
Draft legal documents, pleadings, discovery responses, case summaries, and correspondence.
Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other platforms to support case development.
Assist in preparing trial exhibits, deposition summaries, and evidence presentations.
Request, review, and organize medical records, financial records, and other case materials.
Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filing of legal documents.
Respond to discovery requests, gather information from clients, and coordinate with opposing counsel.
Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel regarding case proceedings.
Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing case files and drafting trial binders.
Ensure compliance with court rules, procedural guidelines, and client expectations.
Requirements
3+ years of paralegal experience.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to sift through complex legal documents and identify relevant information.
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools (Westlaw experience a plus).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Experience billing hours in a legal setting is a plus.
