We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and highly organized Paralegal to support our attorneys and team. We are a 4-attorney law firm that handles Estate Planning, Probate Administration, Elder Law/Medicaid, and Real Estate.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who can confidently manage multiple matters, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. This position requires someone who is proactive, organized, comfortable working collaboratively across departments, and committed to providing exceptional service to both our clients and internal team members.
Experience in real estate transactions and closings is strongly preferred. Experience in all practice areas is a plus but is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with residential real estate transactions and closings
- Order and review title searches and related documentation
- Coordinate closing schedules with clients, attorneys, lenders, real estate professionals, and other parties
- Assist with preparing closing disclosures and closing packages
- Calculate and prepare wire transfer information and closing-related disbursements
- Prepare deeds and other transaction documents as needed
- Ensure closing files are accurate, organized, and complete
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients throughout their matters
- Draft, revise, proofread, and finalize estate planning documents based on attorney direction and individual client needs
- Assist with the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related documents
- Coordinate document signing appointments, including witnessing and notarization requirements
- Draft and prepare probate forms, petitions, inventories, accountings, and other required documentation
- File documents with Connecticut Probate Courts and track applicable deadlines
- Develop an understanding of different probate scenarios and the filing and procedural requirements associated with each
- Maintain organized matter files and ensure required tasks and deadlines are completed timely
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior paralegal or legal support experience preferred
- Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: Real Estate, Estate Planning, Probate Administration
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, some phones.
- Professional, compassionate, and client-service-oriented demeanor
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
- Comfortable learning and following established procedures and workflows
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive client information
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn legal practice-management and document-management systems

Pay: $54,821.46 – $66,021.54 per year
