An excellent opportunity has arisen with a top US law firm for a paralegal to join their market leading funds team in London.
The Firm
The firm is top tier and has offices across the US, Asia and Europe. The London office is small to mid-sized, meaning it has the best of both worlds – the friendly feel of a smaller firm but also access to market leading deals!
The firm has a training contract programme and prides itself on the fact that it recruits its future trainees from its paralegal pool, meaning that there is opportunity to progress to a training contract with the firm should you impress!
The Team
The funds practice acts for asset managers, buyout houses, funds of funds and new managers on fund formations across a diverse range of fund structures and asset classes, including private equity, infrastructure, special situations, and renewable energy funds.
In addition, you will have access to secondaries work (including transactions, GP-led secondaries, and continuation funds).
The Role
You can look forward to working closely with the associates and partners and having a high level of responsibility, more akin to that of a trainee.
Duties of the funds paralegal may include:
Preparing agreements and documentation for new investment vehicles
Conducting verification exercises
Reviewing documentation
Managing trackers and checklists
Drafting and submitting Companies House filings
Preparing transaction bibles
Legal research
The Requirements
Experience as a funds paralegal at a comparable US or city law firm is essential as you will have a high level of responsibility from day one.
Completion of the LPC is preferred, with relevant electives, although not essential.
