Role Description The Paralegal role at Johnson & Bell is a full-time, on-site position based in Chicago. This role works directly with attorneys and other support staff to throughout the entire lifecycle of our clients' legal issues. Core responsibilities include legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing e-discovery, organizing case files, and providing direct assistance during trials..

Qualifications

  • Three or more years experience in civil litigation, including product liability, premises liability, and/or toxic tort litigation
  • Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and trial materials.
  • Experience with Research and Document Review, including analyzing records, summarizing depositions, organizing evidence, and conducting legal and factual investigations.
  • Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff, clients, experts, and court personnel.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and capability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
  • Proficiency with legal software and tools (e-filing systems, case management platforms, document management and e-discovery tools, and Microsoft Office suite).
  • Bachelor’s degree required. A Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program preferred.
