Paralegal – Claims Management

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Paralegal with experience managing a high-volume caseload of claims. The successful candidate will support the progression of claims from initial instruction through to settlement or resolution, ensuring excellent client service, regulatory compliance, and efficient case management.

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively prioritise competing demands, and has a strong understanding of claims processes and legal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Claims Management

  • Manage a high-volume caseload of claims in accordance with company procedures, client service standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Progress claims efficiently through each stage of the claims lifecycle.
  • Review claim documentation and evidence to assess validity and completeness.
  • Obtain, organise, and maintain case records and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor key milestones and deadlines to ensure timely progression of cases.
  • Liaise with clients, solicitors, defendants, insurers, and third parties regarding claim updates and information requests.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of legal documentation, claim forms, schedules of loss, witness statements, and correspondence.
  • Support settlement negotiations and resolution of claims where appropriate.

Client Care

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the claims process.
  • Provide clear and professional updates regarding claim progress and next steps.
  • Handle client enquiries and resolve issues in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of all client communications.

Case Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management system records.
  • Prepare reports and management information as required.
  • Ensure all documentation is filed and stored in accordance with company policies and data protection requirements.
  • Assist with quality assurance and file review processes.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Identify and escalate complex, high-risk, or potentially fraudulent claims.
  • Support audit and compliance reviews as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal, Claims Handler, Legal Assistant, or similar role.
  • Experience managing a high-volume caseload within a legal, insurance, or claims management environment.
  • Strong understanding of claims processes and legal procedures.
  • Experience using case management systems and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements is desirable.
  • Legal qualifications or progress towards a legal qualification would be advantageous.
