This position will report directly to the Company’s Head of Legal.

What you will be doing:

Manage the company’s legal operations, including matter management software, budgets and invoices.

Assist the Company’s Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution Counsel in resolving litigation matters by communicating with outside litigation counsel, responding to discovery requests, and managing case files.

Support the Company’s Dispute Resolution Counsel by drafting regulatory complaint responses and helping to manage communications with regulatory bodies.

Manage the Company’s state regulatory lending licensing efforts, including new license applications, responding to state examinations, completing annual renewals and analyzing additional licensing obligations.

Assist with proofreading various documents and obtaining the signatures of any required parties.

Communicate and coordinate with personnel across various groups within the Company, the Board, and with external counsel and vendors.

Provide other administrative support as needed.

What you will need:

At least 4 years of relevant experience as a paralegal, legal operations lead, risk management professional or licensing expert, preferably in banking, specialty finance or related industries.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Sound judgment, comfort in dealing with ambiguity, and willingness to “own” issues and projects.

Be an effective and accountable team member and value-added business contributor, who nurtures close ties and collaborates effectively with colleagues to achieve business objectives, not merely a compliance advisor.

Solid Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

Preferred Skills:

Litigation experience, preferably within the consumer financial litigation area.

A results-driven individual, possessing exemplary leadership, communication, integrative and influencing skills.

Collaborative team-player who can find creative and practical solutions in a dynamic work environment.

Ability to work and lead under pressure, exhibiting timely decision making with a sense of urgency.
