A leading specialist law firm is seeking a fluent Russian‑speaking Paralegal to join its highly regarded disputes practice. Fluent Russian is a strict requirement for this role, and applications without this will not be considered.
The Opportunity
You will support fee‑earners across Business Crime and Commercial Litigation/Civil Fraud, working on complex, high‑profile and often cross‑border matters involving serious reputational and financial risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing legal, administrative, interpreting and translation support in Russian and English
- Supporting matters involving fraud, investigations and international disputes
- Translating and analysing Russian‑language documentation
- Drafting research memoranda on litigation and advisory issues
- Taking detailed notes during meetings and conference calls with clients, Counsel and third parties
- Assisting with document‑heavy, fast‑moving cases and tight deadlines
Essential Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)
- Fluent Russian (spoken and written) — this is a core requirement of the role
- Excellent written and spoken English
Either:
- Bilingual or degree‑level Russian, or
- Russian as a first language with at least one year living and working in the UK
- Ability to operate confidently across UK and Russian cultural and professional contexts
Additional Skills & Experience
- Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 degree; LPC/BPTC with commendation preferred)
- Ideally one year or more paralegal experience in business crime or commercial litigation
- Experience handling complex document management
- Confident use of LexisNexis, Westlaw and Practical Law
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, resilient and able to perform under pressure
- Sanctions experience is advantageous
