What can you expect from the role?
You will act as a paralegal with sole responsibility for Accident Benefits files, represent Definity at the License Appeal Tribunal, prepare responses, engage in settlement negotiations, collaborate with experts and third parties, report to clients, provide legal opinions, prepare hearing submissions, and occasionally appear before the Tribunal for oral arguments.
What do you bring to this role?
Paralegal program (degree or diploma) or P1 LSO License preferred
Minimum 2 years of Insurance Defense or commercial litigation experience
Experience with the License Appeal Tribunal and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule, including procedural knowledge
Proficiency with Outlook and MS Office
Strong negotiation and facilitation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities
Team-oriented and self-motivated
High proficiency in English is required for service to internal and external customers across Canada.
Salary Range
:
$69,000 – $127,000
