Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with industry regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently.
Duties
Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 to ensure accurate billing.
Review patient records to verify that all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and patient balances.
Collaborate with the medical office team to ensure smooth operations and effective communication regarding billing issues.
Qualifications
Proven experience in medical billing and coding, with familiarity in both ICD-9 and ICD-10 systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical records management.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in using medical billing software and systems.
Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
