The Mass Tort Paralegal will assist attorneys with fact investigation, legal research, document preparation, database management, docketing, and client service, focusing on California asbestos practice. Responsibilities include discovery, deposition prep, investigation, trial and mediation prep, factual analysis, pleadings, motions, briefs, document management, scheduling, and trial participation.
Essential functions include:
Maintaining professionalism and compliance with firm policies.
Attention to detail and quality of work.
Developing technical skills in database management and electronic research.
Organizing and managing files independently or delegating tasks.
Participating in in-house CLEs.
Mentoring Paralegal Assistants.
Anticipating attorney needs.
Handling duties independently.
Meeting a billable hour requirement of 1500 hours annually.
Core requirements include excellent service and communication skills, professionalism, organization, teamwork, judgment, confidentiality, and leadership abilities.
Position-specific requirements include asbestos/toxic tort litigation experience, a Paralegal Certificate or related degree, or equivalent training.
