We are seeking a Paralegal to join our Trade Mark team.
Requirements:
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in professional services
Experience in intellectual property (IP) is preferred
Language:
Excellent Arabic and English and an ability to translate between the two
French is a plus
Education:
A tertiary degree is essential
Computer skills:
Experience using basic programs is essential
Experience using intellectual property databases is a plus
Responsibilities:
Assisting in the management of IP portfolios;
Preparing translations, correspondence and reports for clients, agents and government authorities;
Preparing trade mark applications;
Assisting with IP audits;
Assisting with obtaining corporate and product information;
Assisting with conducting legal and market research;
Preparing cost estimates;
Drafting legal documents;
Following up on the progress of trade mark applications;
Reporting progress of applications to clients;
Reporting on the upcoming expiry of trade mark registrations and seeking instructions to renew and maintain their validity;
Ensuring that all progress is updated on the intellectual property management software (IPMS);
Cross checking client requests with any official documents that have been issued from the trade mark office;
Updating clients’ on-line system with the progress of their trade marks; and
Attending to any other tasks of a similar nature that may be assigned.
