Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role at Vasquez Law Firm, PLLC in Orlando, FL. The paralegal will be responsible for various tasks related to law, legal document preparation, communication, research, and document review. We’re seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. Responsibilities
Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews
Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions
Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers
Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish (REQUIRED)
3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
Have a strong understanding of the following forms and processes: I-130, I-485, N-400, I-765, I-131, I-526, I-589 consular processing of immigrant/nonimmigrant visas, and immigration court filings. Removal experience is needed as well.
Understand what documentation is required to support various immigration applications, and have extensive experience organizing application packets in accordance with legal requirements
Be familiar with concepts of immigration and nationality law, such as the requirements for non-immigrant and immigrant visas, admissibility, and deportation
Have excellent writing skills, including a mastery of English spelling and grammar
