Position Summary:

The Organization Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Knik Tribe’s compliance program to promote adherence with applicable laws, regulations, Tribal policies, grant requirements, contractual obligations, and internal procedures. This position works collaboratively with leadership and departments to identify compliance risks, develop corrective actions, support monitoring activities, and strengthen organizational processes. The Organization Compliance Manager serves as a resource for compliance guidance, policy implementation, training, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization. This position also oversees the administration of the Tribe’s insurance and risk management programs to ensure adequate coverage, regulatory compliance, and protection of organizational assets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

· Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive organizational compliance program aligned with applicable federal, state, Tribal, and funding agency requirements.

· Serve as the primary liaison with the organization’s insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators regarding policy administration, renewals, claims, and risk management matters.

· Coordinate the administration of the organization’s insurance programs, including property, liability, automobile, cyber, and other appliable coverages to ensure policies remain current and adequate for organizational operations.

· Coordinate the collection and submission of information required for insurance renewals, policy updates, audits, and underwriting requests.

· Review contracts, leases, and agreements to ensure insurance requirements are met and appropriate coverage is maintained.

· Monitor organization claims, including property, liability, and vehicle claims, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and follow-up with appropriate parties.

· Monitor changes in laws, regulations, grant requirements, and industry standards that may impact Tribal operations and programs.

· Conduct compliance reviews, internal audits, and assessments to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

· Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, standards, and guidance documents.

· Partner with department leadership to ensure organizational programs and operations comply with applicable requirements.

· Review organizational processes, documentation, and practices to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, standards, and guidance documents.

· Develop corrective action plans, monitor progress, and provide recommendations to address identified compliance concerns.

· Support grant funded programs by monitoring compliance with grant terms, reporting requirements, regulations and contractual obligations.

· Assist departments with preparation for external audits, monitoring reviews, licensing inspections, and regulatory inquiries.

· Maintain accurate compliance records, reports, audit documentation, and corrective action tracking.

· Develop and provide compliance related training and resources for employees and leadership.

· Serve as point of contact for compliance with questions and provide guidance regarding policies, procedures, regulatory requirements.

· Coordinate with Human Resources, Finance, Grants, Programs, and Executive Leadership to strengthen internal controls and organizational accountability.

· Partner with Human Resources and other departments to develop and implement effective training programs for employees.

· Identify potential operational risks and recommend strategies to improve efficiency, transparency, and compliance.

· Review and recommend updates to organizational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.

· Support the development of organizational standards related to ethics, confidentiality, records management, safety, and risk management.

· Monitor organizational compliance with OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations by conducting periodic compliance reviews, identifying areas of risk, and recommending corrective actions.

· Prepare compliance reports and provide updates and recommendations to executive leadership.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Compliance, Law, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in compliance, auditing, regulatory oversight, quality assurance, grants management, risk management, or a related field.

· Experience working with Tribal organizations, nonprofit organizations, government entities, or grant-funded programs preferred.

· Experience developing policies, procedures, and internal controls preferred.

· Experience conducting audits, monitoring activities, or compliance reviews.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Knowledge of compliance principles, risk management practices, and internal control processes.

· Knowledge of federal, state, Tribal, and grant-related regulatory requirements.

· Knowledge of commercial insurance programs, including property, liability, automobile, cyber liability, and professional liability coverages.

· Understanding insurance claims administration, certificates of insurance, policy renewals, and organizational risk management principles.

· Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, hazard identification, and corrective action processes.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to interpret regulations, policies, contracts, and technical documents.

· Ability to develop effective working relationships with leadership, employees, program staff, and external partners.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites and document management systems.

· Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

· Combination of office and program/site visits as needed.

· Ability to travel between KT locations and attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

· Ability to review documents, conduct assessments, and work at a computer for extended periods of time.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive organizational, employee, participant, and program information.

Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year DOE/E. Plus full benefits: Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contributions.
