Job Summary:
The Legal Coordinator Compliance is responsible for assisting with the management and implementation of compliance programs within the organization. This includes supporting the legal and compliance teams, tracking regulatory changes, ensuring company practices adhere to legal standards, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Monitoring & Reporting:
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs and policies.
Monitor regulatory developments and assist in ensuring the organization’s compliance with industry regulations.
Maintain and organize compliance-related documentation and records.
Prepare reports on compliance activities and updates for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
Legal & Regulatory Research:
Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that may affect the organization’s operations.
Stay informed about regulatory changes and legal developments affecting the business.
Support the team in reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance.
Training & Education:
Assist in the creation and delivery of training programs for employees on compliance-related topics.
Organize workshops and seminars to raise awareness of legal and compliance issues across the organization.
Internal Auditing & Investigations:
Support the compliance team in conducting internal audits and assessments to ensure adherence to legal policies and regulations.
Help coordinate investigations of potential compliance violations or issues and document findings.
Communication & Liaison:
Act as a liaison between the compliance department and other teams, ensuring that compliance issues are communicated and addressed.
Provide legal support and advice to other departments as needed.
Document Management:
Maintain organized systems for managing contracts, compliance certificates, licenses, and other legal documentation.
Ensure proper filing of compliance-related records and materials, adhering to company protocols.
Risk Management:
Assist in identifying and assessing potential compliance risks, and help develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
Support in the development and enforcement of corrective actions when compliance issues arise.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A law degree (JD) or compliance certification is a plus.
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in a legal, compliance, or regulatory role, preferably in a corporate or law firm setting.
Knowledge of compliance regulations and standards in [industry] is preferred.
Skills:
Strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge of compliance management software and legal research tools is a plus.
