Office Support Assistant 2

Department of Health and Human Services – Child Support

Hourly Pay Rate: $15.02 – $22.51

Closing Date: August 31, 2026, or sooner upon receipt of the first 50 application submissions received

Job Summary: The Office Support Assistant performs varied clerical tasks including Maintaining the KIDS database, process legal documents and provide necessary clerical support to ensure compliance with Federal Regulations, State Laws and mandates. This position allows the department to achieve performance measures set by the State of Wisconsin and to be able to provide timely and efficient services to the families in Milwaukee Count

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review new cases for correctness. Query various databases and update KIDS and On Base data systems accordingly.
  • Entering and updating incoming and outgoing process documents on the KIDS, On Base and E filing systems. Create and update excel data sheets to track incoming and outgoing documents for service. Serve participants with their legal documents in the office.
  • Review existing hard copy files to ensure essential documents have been scanned into OnBase electronic filing system. Scan files that have not been uploaded to OnBase.
  • Assemble informational packets for mailing and distribution to participants. Mail and fax various documents to vendors, attorneys, participants and other agencies.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current resident of the State of Wisconsin
  • At least one (1) year of full-time office clerical experience
  • Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of modern office methods, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Using various office machines, customer service with contact skills over the telephone and in person. Basic data entry skills with a high rate of accuracy, written and oral communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to follow oral/written instructions. Maintain records, files, and store items according to file codes or classifications. Perform basic math computations and work effectively and harmoniously with others.
