We are looking for an organized, dependable, and motivated Office / Legal Assistant to join our family law firm. This is an entry-level position designed for someone who has strong administrative skills, takes pride in doing things correctly, and is interested in learning the legal side of a professional office.
You do not need prior law firm experience to be successful in this role. We are willing to train the right person who brings a strong work ethic, attention to detail, professionalism, and a genuine desire to learn.
This position will provide administrative and legal support to our attorneys, paralegals, and operations team. You’ll assist with everything from scheduling and correspondence to basic legal documents, calendaring, client document collection, and general office support.

Key Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and phone calls for attorneys.
- Prepare, finalize, and send routine correspondence, including transmittal and client enclosure letters.
- Assist with basic legal documents and filings, including simple pleadings and potentially electronic filing as trained.
- Assist paralegals with gathering documents and information from clients for Initial Disclosures, Financial Disclosure Forms, and other case needs.
- Assist with monitoring deadlines and calendaring case-related dates and attorney commitments.
- Prepare retainer letters and other routine client documents.
- Process and enter incoming documents and pleadings into the firm’s case management and timekeeping systems.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other team members as needed.
- Serve as backup support for the front desk, including answering phones and assisting clients and visitors when needed.
- Help coordinate office needs, including placing and monitoring IT and building service requests, ordering lunches for meetings and mediations, and maintaining kitchen, printer, and office supplies.
- Assist with other administrative and operational projects as availability and office needs require.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word.
- Ability to learn new software and office procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Dependable, professional, and willing to learn.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
- Willingness to accept direction, feedback, and increasing responsibility as skills develop.
Highly Valued, But Not Required
- Previous administrative, office, or receptionist experience.
- Experience working in a law firm or other professional office environment.
- Familiarity with legal terminology or legal documents.
- Experience preparing, proofreading, or formatting professional documents.
- Experience with calendaring, data entry, or document management.
- An interest in developing a long-term career in the legal field.
Prior legal experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person.

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
