A confidential Dallas-based litigation defense practice is seeking an Associate Attorney to support a busy insurance defense and personal injury defense docket. This is a hands-on role for a developing litigator who wants meaningful responsibility, consistent partner guidance, and exposure to matters that can progress through trial.

THE ROLE
- Manage an active litigation caseload with responsibility for client reporting, billing, and budgeting requirements.
- Evaluate liability, damages, and loss exposure; help drive early case assessment and strategy.
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and substantive motions (including motions to compel).
- Conduct legal research and write briefs and internal memoranda.
- Prepare for and take or defend depositions; support hearings, mediations, and trial preparation as cases progress.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local court rules and internal case management expectations.
LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
Location:
Dallas, Texas.
Schedule:
In office 4 days/week (fully on-site with some flexibility).
Compensation:
Base salary range: $95,000 to $130,000 (USD), depending on experience, plus bonus eligibility.
REQUIREMENTS
- Active Texas bar license in good standing.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- At least 2 years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense strongly preferred).
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, and day-to-day case management.
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Professional client-facing communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- 3 to 4 years of relevant litigation experience.
- Personal injury defense experience.
- Deposition experience (taking and defending).
- Exposure to construction, energy, or complex liability matters.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Monthly billable goal of 160 hours; additional compensation is available for exceeding goals.
- Bonus structure tied to exceeding monthly billables, measured on a quarterly basis.
