A well-established, full-service law firm in the Northeast is seeking an Employment attorney to support a defense-side practice that blends employment litigation with day-to-day counseling. This confidential opportunity is ideal for an associate who enjoys managing matters across state and federal courts while also advising HR and business stakeholders on practical risk solutions.

THE ROLE
- Assist in defending employment-related claims in state and federal courts, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.
- Support enforcement and defense of restrictive covenant matters and trade secret prosecution and defense.
- Provide employment counseling and Human Resources support across all phases of the employment relationship.
- Draft and review employment-related documents and correspondence, and help develop practical guidance for workplace issues.
- Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive written work product.
LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
Location:
Northern New Jersey (Newark area).
Compensation:
$205,000 base salary.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 to 5 years of experience assisting with the defense of employment claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, restrictive covenant enforcement and defense, and trade secret prosecution and defense.
- Experience providing employment counseling and Human Resources support.
- Admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Excellent academic credentials and strong legal research, drafting, writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Experience with traditional labor law or ERISA matters.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Billable hours target: 1,950.
