Job Summary

As a Senior Litigation Paralegal at our firm, you will support attorneys throughout all stages of personal injury litigation, from initial pleadings through trial. Your responsibilities will include preparing client discovery responses, preparing outgoing discovery and deficiency letters, managing case files, coordinating with clients, managing scheduling orders and case deadlines, conducting legal research, and effectively delegating tasks to other team members as appropriate. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities:

Effective Delegation: Identify tasks that can be efficiently delegated to legal assistants or other support team members to optimize workflow and meet deadlines.
Client Communication: Act as a primary contact for clients, providing updates on case progress, answering questions, and gathering information.
Case Investigation: Identify and take witness statements; send open record requests; request surveillance footage.
Document Preparation: Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, witness and exhibit lists, affidavits, and motions under attorney supervision.
Discovery Process: Assist in the gathering, organizing, and review of documents for discovery; manage document production; managing discovery deadlines; coordinating client preparation meetings for discovery responses and depositions; familiarity with common objections and discovery disputes.
Expert Liaison: Assist in locating and managing relationships with expert witnesses and ensuring documents are shared and appropriately tracked throughout discovery.
Legal Research: Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and other legal resources to support litigation strategy.
Trial Preparation: Assist with trial preparation, including creating trial binders, preparing witness lists, coordinating with expert witnesses, and providing client support.
Calendar Management: Manage the litigation calendar, tracking deadlines and documents are prepared with adequate time for attorney review.
Administrative Tasks: Assist with data entry and other administrative tasks as needed to support the efficiency of the firm’s operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a litigation paralegal with a strong understanding of litigation processes.
Proficiency in legal drafting and document review with an emphasis on accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with project management principles to oversee multiple cases simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work products.
Experience with personal injury law is a plus but not required.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
