Supporting the company’s compliance management program, the full-time remote Mortgage Compliance Counsel will provide legal analysis and guidance on federal and state regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to compliance operations across departments.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on compliance risks and issues to support mortgage origination compliance and operations
- Assist with the development of solutions for regulatory findings and provide legal support for post-close suspense items
- Draft policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mortgage lending compliance
- Knowledge of federal and state mortgage lending regulations, including Dodd Frank, QM/ATR, RESPA, and TILA
- Experience supporting compliance programs in the mortgage lending industry
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct
