Starting annual salary range, depending on qualifications & experience, is from $78,024.00 – $87,817.00.
Misdemeanor prosecutors are expected to:
Evaluate facts in misdemeanor cases
Make charging decisions
Contact victims
Work with law enforcement officers
Make plea offers
Try cases to juries
Misdemeanor prosecutors will share a caseload in an assigned misdemeanor court with another misdemeanor prosecutor and will have the opportunity on occasion to try felony cases. Applicants must be currently licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
