Job Overview:
A prominent law firm with offices in San Francisco is actively seeking a Mid-Level Associate to join its Managed Care Litigation team within the Global Commercial Disputes Practice. The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, and will be adept at managing multiple cases simultaneously. This position is ideal for an attorney capable of serving as the primary contact on litigation matters and leading internal coordination efforts.
Experience in healthcare or managed care litigation is strongly preferred.
Location:
Duties:
Manage and lead multiple complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters
Serve as the primary associate on assigned litigation cases
Coordinate litigation efforts with junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
Act as a key client liaison throughout the lifecycle of a case
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, discovery materials, and other court documents
Assist with strategy development, hearings, depositions, and settlement discussions
Collaborate across practice groups when needed, particularly within healthcare-related cases
Requirements:
3–5 years of relevant experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple matters and serve as lead associate
Strong litigation management and client communication skills
Managed care or healthcare litigation experience is highly preferred
Must be an active member of the California State Bar
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Strong academic record required
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in California
Skills:
Advanced legal research and analytical abilities
Excellent drafting and communication skills
Strong case management and organizational abilities
Leadership and mentoring experience within legal teams
Ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary legal professionals
