Torres & Zheng at Law, P.C. was originally founded in 2018 and rebranded in 2023. We are a business law firm dedicated to serving the legal needs of businesses, individuals, and employers in China and the United States with exceptional expertise and commitment. Our clients are primarily Chinese and American entrepreneurs, with a significant portion being Mandarin-speaking only.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented mid-level litigation associate to join our growing team. In this role, you will own and lead your own litigation matters from case inception through resolution, while also serving as a senior reviewer and mentor to junior associates and interns. This is a hands-on, case-focused position with significant responsibility and direct client exposure. You will work directly with experienced trial attorneys and have a clear path to advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a diverse docket of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, and securities-related litigation.
- Draft, review, and argue a wide range of motions, including motions to dismiss and summary judgment.
- Manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery, depositions, and e-discovery strategy.
- Review and provide meaningful feedback on work prepared by junior associates and interns, helping them grow while ensuring quality control.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and delivering results.
- Represent clients at court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Report directly to the Managing Partner and collaborate with the litigation team to ensure case milestones are met.
Qualifications:
- Admitted to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing).
- 3–5 years of litigation experience (commercial, business, or securities litigation preferred).
- Proven ability to manage cases independently and lead a litigation team.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- JD or LLM degree from an accredited law school.
- Located in New York City (or willing to relocate).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin Chinese fluency is a plus, but not required.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
