Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY is seeking a Mid-level and Senior Real Estate Associate Attorney with extensive experience in real estate transactions. Duties:
Provide legal counsel on real estate transactions, including mortgage and mezzanine debt (both lender and borrower side), joint-venture equity, acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects.
Draft, negotiate, and review key transaction documents such as loan agreements, joint-venture agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and development contracts.
Conduct thorough due diligence, including reviewing title, survey documents, and other critical materials.
Advise clients on regulatory compliance and risk management related to real estate matters.
Manage complex transactions, ensuring timely and efficient completion of projects.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop strategic solutions for real estate issues.
Mentor and support junior attorneys and staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
Requirements:
Solid experience in one or more of the following areas: mortgage/mezzanine debt, joint-venture equity work, acquisitions and dispositions, and/or development.
Strong background in real estate transactions or relevant non-real estate transactional experience.
A commitment to professional growth, mentorship, and contributing to a positive work culture.
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the New York State Bar.
Skills:
