Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 2nd to 4th year Mergers and Acquisitions Associate to join its New York NY office.
This is a 100 percent transactional role focused on sophisticated mergers and acquisitions and strategic corporate transactions for a diverse client base that includes public and private companies and private equity backed platforms.
The firm offers a collaborative, team oriented environment with structured mentorship and strong professional resources, supporting associates who want meaningful responsibility while working closely with partners and lean deal teams.
The Opportunity
You will support high value domestic and cross border buy side and sell side matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances, spin offs, carve outs, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and tender offers. The work includes managing diligence, drafting and negotiating principal and ancillary deal documents, coordinating specialist input, and advising on corporate structuring issues through signing and closing. This position is expected to be office based five days per week in New York.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a 2nd to 4th year Mergers and Acquisitions Associate with:
- 2 to 4 years of significant mergers and acquisitions and strategic transactions experience
- Experience on domestic and cross border buy side and sell side matters
- Knowledge of corporate structuring and related deal mechanics
- Admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to waive into New York
- Strong client service orientation and an ability to work effectively in a team environment

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is 260000 to 365000, depending on class year, experience and other relevant factors.
