Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various areas of law, including Personal Injury Law, employment discrimination, and criminal law. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability type, and proficiency in legal documentation processes. The Legal Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the legal office and providing excellent support to both clients and attorneys.
Duties
Answering phones
Assist attorneys in preparing for court hearings and trials by organizing case files and documents.
Draft and transcribe legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
File documents with the court and ensure compliance with all legal procedures.
Manage attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
Assist in the preparation of discovery materials and responses.
Support the litigation process by organizing exhibits and evidence for trial.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal is preferred.
Communications with client and other court personnel.
Proficiency in legal research techniques and familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.
Strong skills in transcribing legal documents accurately.
Knowledge of Family Law, Personal Injury Law, Employment discrimination, or criminal Law is a plus.
Reliable
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
