Managing Attorney- Intake Jobs in Saint Petersburg, FL at Gulfcoast Legal Services
Your Role: You will use your legal expertise to provide guidance on coverage issues across various claim types. You will play a pivotal role in evaluating and analyzing coverage, overseeing coverage litigation, and providing legal opinions to claims personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Coverage Analysis: Identify, evaluate, and analyze coverage issues related to Professional Liability, Casualty, and Property claims.
Correspondence Drafting: Prepare clear and comprehensive coverage position and denial letters for policyholders and other key stakeholders.
Litigation Management: Oversee outside counsel in litigated matters to ensure effective strategy and outcomes.
Claims Advisory: Act as internal counsel, supporting claims adjusters in resolving complex coverage matters.
Settlement Negotiation: Lead settlement discussions within authority limits, aiming for timely and cost-effective resolutions.
Legal Research & Guidance: Conduct legal research, provide coverage opinions, and stay current on relevant case law and trends. Share insights across claims teams.
Training & Development: Design and deliver training sessions on legal coverage topics to internal claims professionals.
Policy Drafting Support: Collaborate with underwriting and legal teams to assist in developing and refining policy language.
Travel: Occasional travel required to attend arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences, trials, or client meetings.
What You’ll Bring
Legal Acumen: Juris Doctorate (JD) with experience in claims handling, claims counsel, or insurance-related legal practice.
Analytical Strength: Proven ability to navigate complex legal and coverage issues and apply sound judgment.
Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiator with a track record of resolving coverage disputes and claim settlements.
Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey legal positions and train others.
Organizational Efficiency: Capable of managing a high volume of cases independently while maintaining accuracy and focus.
Qualifications
Education: Juris Doctorate (JD) required
Experience: 3–7 years in a law firm litigation role and/or insurance claims handling environment
Technical Proficiency: Solid working knowledge of Westlaw and proficiency in conducting legal research

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
