About the Role

MyKaarma is seeking an experienced Associate Legal Counsel to support our fast-growing B2B SaaS business. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be the primary legal advisor across commercial operations—owning contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with telecom and privacy regulations (TCPA, CAN-SPAM, Do-Not-Call, GDPR, CCPA), and building a scalable legal infrastructure.

We’re looking for a sharp, business-minded attorney with a strong grasp of SaaS contracts and customer communications law, who thrives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Hybrid work environment, must be able to commute to Long Beach twice weekly.

What You’ll Do

Build Legal Infrastructure for Scale: Create playbooks, templates, and contract systems to support rapid growth with discipline.
Communications Compliance Leadership: Ensure regulatory compliance across TCPA, Do-Not-Call, CAN-SPAM, and state-level communication laws across voice, text, and email channels.
Commercial Velocity: Streamline the contracting process for large dealer groups, OEMs, and third-party partners without compromising on legal quality.
Cross-Functional Influence: Be the go-to advisor for legal and regulatory matters across product, sales, marketing, and customer operations.
Deal Closure Acceleration: Support contract redlining, approvals, and negotiation to compress deal cycles and protect business outcomes.
Risk Mitigation: Develop policies and training to proactively identify and address emerging risks in contracts, customer communications, and product releases

Key Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including SaaS agreements, MSAs, NDAs, partner/vendor agreements, and DPAs.
Ensure compliance with federal and state communication regulations such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Do-Not-Call (DNC) list, CAN-SPAM Act, and related guidance for text and voice communications.
Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to embed legal and privacy considerations in product design and customer workflows.
Create legal process templates, clause libraries, and pre-approved terms to enable rapid deal execution.
Serve as internal expert on evolving privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR, etc.), data retention, consent management, and cross-border transfers.
Develop and maintain internal policies related to customer communications, privacy, IP, and risk management.
Advise executives and managers on legal strategy and contract risk, prioritizing speed with discipline.
Support IP strategy including protection of proprietary tools, trademarks, and co-developed partner solutions.
Manage use of legal technologies including Dropbox Sign, Ironclad (or similar CLM tools), and contract repositories.
Liaise with external counsel on complex matters such as disputes, litigation, or M&A.

What We’re Looking For

JD from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction
4+ years of legal experience, ideally with both in-house and firm-side work in SaaS or tech
Strong negotiation skills and independent contract management experience with enterprise customers and vendors
In-depth understanding of data privacy (GDPR, CCPA) and communication regulations (TCPA, CAN-SPAM, DNC)
Familiarity with CLM and e-signature platforms
Excellent communicator with strong business judgment and collaborative spirit
Bonus: Experience with automotive or franchised dealer clients
