This role is responsible for supporting the Head of Section in managing corporate legal matters, providing legal advisory support, reviewing and drafting legal documents, and ensuring statutory and governance compliance across the organization.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will assist in handling legal, governance, risk, and company secretarial related matters while providing practical legal advice to protect PTP’s business interests.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, PTP subsidiaries, MMC Group Legal, external solicitors, and relevant business units to support commercial, property, contractual, litigation, and corporate governance matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to internal departments on business, commercial, property, and corporate matters.
- Review, draft, and negotiate legal documents and agreements, including tenancy agreements, sub-lease agreements, novation agreements, letters of offer, consent letters, contracts, and related correspondences.
- Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations on legal issues affecting the Company.
- Support property-related legal matters and attend discussions with internal stakeholders and external parties when required.
- Assist in managing litigation, dispute resolution, and legal correspondence with external solicitors.
- Support company secretarial matters, including Board papers, resolutions, minutes, and statutory compliance matters.
- Ensure legal risks are properly identified, assessed, and mitigated.
- Monitor legal developments and advise the business on relevant updates.
- Support governance, compliance, anti-bribery, confidentiality, and risk management requirements.
- Perform any other legal or governance-related duties as assigned by the Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent qualification.
- Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
- Relevant experience in legal practice, in-house legal, corporate legal, or company secretarial functions.
- Good knowledge of contract law, commercial law, property-related legal matters, Companies Act 2016, and corporate governance requirements.
- Experience in litigation management, contract drafting, legal advisory, and stakeholder engagement will be an added advantage.
