Litigation Support Case Manager Jobs in Saint Louis, MO at UB Greensfelder LLP

GENERAL DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Chief Deputy Clerk, files and prepares forms, legal documents, letters, and reports; issues certified mail, subpoenas, and publications; dockets; schedules hearings; receipts and records all monies received; enters data on a personal computer.

QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma required or equivalent combination of training and/or experience; computer and typing skills preferred; previous experience preferred.

TASKS PERFORMED:

Files, prepares, and dockets all complaints and documents for official cases including, but not limited to: delinquent/unruly, dependent/neglect, traffic, contributing, marriages, failure to send, etc.
Prepares, issues, and dockets certified and personal mail service, summons, notices, and other legal services on all juvenile cases.
Dockets return of services on all cases.
Assigns and schedules traffic hearings.
Pulls cases for daily hearings.
Submits journal entries to the Judge and/or Magistrates for signatures.
Dockets all signed entries.
Processes automated entries.
Certifies and mails copies of entries per instruction.
Records final adjudications and dispositions.
Prepares records for imaging and uses imaging equipment.
Prepares bind-over cases and submits originals for filing with the Common Pleas Court.
Accepts and balances all daily money transactions.
Processes credit card payments.
Records and disburses daily money receipts.
Provides coverage for other Deputy Clerks as needed.
Trains other Deputy Clerks as needed.
Assists all staff and the public at the Clerk’s Windows.
Answers all incoming calls.
Participates in staff development per guidelines.
Performs other duties as requested by the Chief Deputy Clerk.

Conditions under which work is performed: Fast-paced environment with constant interruptions; deals primarily with attorneys, court staff, and the general public. May be required to operate a County vehicle.

Knowledge, skills, & abilities necessary to perform tasks: Knowledge of customer service and telephone etiquette, the concept of numerical filing, the Court policies and procedures, and departmental policies and procedures; the ability to operate a computer, concentrate and resume work after interruptions, accurately count and balance cash, carry out written and oral instructions, and respond to routine inquiries; skilled in the use of various office equipment.

Attitudes necessary to successfully perform tasks: Friendly, patient, responds to urgent requests, attends to details, organized.
