An established legal practice in Doha is looking to appoint a Senior Associate to join its Litigation team. The role is suited to an experienced disputes lawyer with strong contentious and pre-contentious experience, demonstrable advocacy skills and substantial Middle East experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle multiple contentious matters independently, including preparing pleadings, briefs, statements, settlement agreements and other legal documents.
- Prepare legal advice, strategies and memoranda and provide commercially focused solutions to clients.
- Represent clients in meetings, proceedings, negotiations and other dispute-related matters.
- Lead and supervise work undertaken by associates, trainees, legal researchers and paralegals, ensuring high-quality legal output.
- Develop client relationships and contribute to business development, while coaching and mentoring junior members of the team.
Candidate Requirements:
- 6 to 10 years’ experience in a law firm or legal practice with strong general litigation experience.
- Middle East experience is essential, with experience before GCC courts considered an advantage.
- Demonstrable advocacy skills and substantial experience across both pre-contentious and contentious matters.
- Native Arabic speaker with a good command of English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable leadership and management experience, including the ability to supervise junior lawyers, organise competing priorities and work independently under pressure.
This is an opportunity for an experienced litigation lawyer with established Middle East experience to take on significant responsibility across client matters, advocacy, supervision and business development within a Doha-based legal practice.
