Position: Litigation Paralegal (Family Law)
Prominent matrimonial and family law firm seeks experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team of support staff. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, in-person in our Hauppauge office (no remote or hybrid work). Salary commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required
- 2+ years law office experience required
- 1+ years Matrimonial and/or Family Law experience required
- Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients and colleagues
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with NYSCEF, E-courts, Lexis, Clio, Google Workspace, Zoom, Dropbox
Responsibilities
- Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Coordinate service of process
- Track deadlines and case progress
- Communicate with clients to gather information and documents
- Update clients on case status and provide general procedural guidance
- Gather and organize financial records (tax returns, bank statements, pay stubs)
- Assist with discovery (PC compliance, disclosure demands, subpoenas)
- Organize exhibits and evidence for hearings or trials
- Ensure compliance with court rules and filing procedures
- Track and enter billable time
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information
