INSURANCE DEFENSE PARALEGAL
Who We Are Seeking
Plauché Maselli Parkerson LLP is expanding its paralegal team and seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our New Orleans office. This is a full-time, on-site position (35 hours per week).
The successful candidate will support our attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial, while working in a professional, collaborative, and team-oriented environment. What We Are Looking For
We are seeking an insurance defense paralegal to provide comprehensive litigation support in personal injury, construction, and premises liability cases in Louisiana state and federal courts.
Responsibilities include:
- Support firm operations with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Managing all aspects of discovery, including drafting responses to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, subpoenas, and other litigation-related pleadings.
- Assisting with investigations and fact development.
- Procuring and organizing medical, employment, and other biographical records while ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
- Reviewing and analyzing medical records and other documentary evidence.
- Preparing detailed chronologies, summaries, and reports for attorney review and client reporting.
- Schedule and coordinate independent medical examinations and expert document review including organization and identification of relevant submission materials
- Reviewing depositions, witness statements, and other testimony to prepare executive summaries and case analyses.
- Managing case files and document databases.
- Assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial support.
- Tracking court deadlines and maintaining litigation calendars.
- Recording billable time accurately and timely.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or comparable education and training in paralegal studies or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience as a billable timekeeper in insurance defense litigation, civil litigation, or a comparable legal environment.
- Working knowledge of Louisiana state and federal court procedures.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records and preparing case chronologies.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing deadlines.
- An understanding of billable timekeeping requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other industry-standard legal software.

Pay: $49,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
