About the Position:
The Town Clerk serves as the central point of contact for the Town Council and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Town Hall office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing administrative support to the Town Administrator
Overseeing daily operations
Managing elections and ensuring compliance with election laws
Preparing and maintaining legal documents, such as ordinances and resolutions
Responding to public inquiries and handling complaints
Attending Town Council meetings and taking minutes
Maintaining and archiving public records
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements:
Valid California Class “C” Driver’s License
Must be willing to obtain California Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) certification within 24 months of hire
Notary Public certification a plus
