Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with all phases of litigation support, case and document management, preparation and coordination of discovery, trial preparation and trial
Preparing and formatting pleadings and other legal documents
Document Review
Interaction with clients, experts and lay witnesses, both orally and through written communication
Filing legal documents (electronic and paper) in Federal, State, and Appellate Courts
Monitoring case docket
Maintaining active case files
Legal fact and basic legal research
Coordinate and schedule calendars
Required Skills/Qualifications
3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm, supporting multiple attorneys
Familiarity with common litigation documents, including complaints, answers, notices of appearance, motions, miscellaneous notices, and orders
Knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), Federal Rules of Appellate Procedure (FRAP), and state court rules
Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
High level of organization and time-management skills
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands
Self-starter with good problem-solving skills while maintaining client service orientation.
Must possess strong writing and analytical skills to independently review, draft, and prepare documents.
Responds promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
3+ years’ as Litigation Paralegal, preferably insurance defense
Ability to work overtime
