Job Description:
Job Summary: The Provider Contract Manager oversees and manages contractual agreements between the hospital and healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimizing financial and operational outcomes. This role involves negotiating contracts, maintaining provider relationships, and close collaboration with various hospital departments including Clinical Operations, Acclaim Provider Group, Contracts Administration, Finance, and Accounting, to support efficient contract execution and administration.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
Develops, negotiates, and manages contracts with healthcare providers, including physicians, medical groups, and ancillary service providers.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital policies in all contracting activities.
Works closely with the contracting team and provides clinical, operational, and financial information to assist the contracting team with negotiating a successful contract.
Collaborates with hospital leadership, finance, legal, and operations teams to align provider contracts with hospital goals and budgets.
Maintains strong relationships with providers to facilitate smooth contract negotiations and ongoing agreements.
Monitors contract performance, reimbursement structures, and payment terms to ensure optimal financial and operational outcomes.
Reconciles provider invoices to ensure accurate payment according to agreement terms.
Assists in resolving contract disputes and ensures adherence to terms and conditions.
Serves as the liaison for JPS clinical teams and provides timely information on the effectiveness of executed agreements with contracted clinician services.
Ensures quality metrics and KPIs are met to promote cost-efficiency throughout the network.
Provides the JPS executive team with insight into changing physician practice patterns and resource needs.
Analyzes market trends, reimbursement models, and industry regulations to inform contract strategies.
Maintains accurate records of provider agreements, amendments, and compliance documentation.
Provides regular reporting and analysis on contract performance and provider network adequacy.
Ensures that all provider operations are compliant with applicable government regulations and contract language.
Establishes solid working relationships with department leaders, staff, providers, and contract agencies to assure the coordination and integration of exceptional patient care throughout JPS.
In collaboration with the network leadership, develops policies and procedures for clinician services.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Health Administration or similar field.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare contracting, provider relations, or a related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Health Administration or similar field.
5 plus years of experience in healthcare contracting, provider relations, or a related area.
