Job Description

Ambrose Law Group has an opening for an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal for our Portland office (but would also assist our Bend office). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of litigation experience, preferably in the business litigation and real estate foreclosure areas.

The Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal responsibilities include document review and organization, assessing evidence, document database management and investigation. Must have experience preparing correspondence, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, conducting background and fact investigations, preparing for trial, and assisting attorneys in both state and federal court arbitrations/trials as needed (Oregon experience required; Washington experience is not required but is a plus).

Candidates must possess a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent client service orientation, sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain focused in the midst of dueling priorities are also essential to the position. The ideal candidate will have experience with Lexis or comparable program.

Qualifications

Minimum three (3) years of experience working as a Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal.

Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field a plus.

Intricate knowledge of Oregon state rules and procedures. Experience with Washington courts preferred but not required.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Document review and organization.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and proofreading skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines under sometimes competing priorities.

Ability to take an assignment from inception to completion with minimal supervision or by following broad guidelines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook. Experience with WordPerfect and Adobe Acrobat a plus.

Previous document management experience with Worldox and/or NetDocuments a plus, but not required.
