Our highly respected defense firm in Downtown Portland is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of legal procedures. This role is essential in supporting three busy partners and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of their practice. This is an in-office position with a possible hybrid after training.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs.
Manage and organize case files using document management systems.
Support litigation processes by preparing exhibits and managing trial preparation tasks.
Maintain accurate data entry for client information and case details.
Ensure compliance with regulations and law requirements as necessary.
Provide clerical support including scheduling, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role.
Familiarity with document management systems and data entry processes.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Knowledge of state (Oregon and Washington) and local court rules will be important.
Excellent attention to details and proofreading abilities are required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
