Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant to join our litigation team, with a strong focus on commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in corporate and commercial litigation, supporting attorneys with case management, document preparation, and trial assistance. This is an in-office position based in New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and organizing legal documents related to commercial litigation, including pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
Manage case files, ensuring all documents are filed according to court rules for commercial litigation matters
Coordinate court filings, depositions, and hearings related to corporate/commercial cases
Prepare trial materials for commercial litigation, including exhibit preparation, discovery documents, and witness lists
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel about commercial litigation cases
Conduct legal research related to commercial law and assist with general case strategy
Provide administrative support to litigation attorneys on commercial and corporate matters
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably in corporate law
Strong knowledge of commercial litigation terminology, case law, and court procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and litigation support software (Relativity, Westlaw, etc.)
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
