Position: Litigation Counsel Role at Definity

This role requires 2-7 years of experience in civil litigation, focusing on insurance works. You will independently handle tort files and improve litigation strategy within the Claims department ect to interface with witnesses, prepare court documents, negotiate settlements, and advise on complex claims.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently manage a varied caseload of tort litigation
• Prepare thoroughly for trials and contested motions
• Review evidence and engage expert witnesses as necessary
• Provide strategic litigation advice within the Claims unit
• Draft and negotiate settlements and related documents
Requirements:
• Valid Ontario law license with relevant post-call experience
• Expertise in handling complex insurance litigation
• Exceptional communication and critical analysis skills
• Proven negotiation and advocacy capabilities
• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree
