The Opportunity
Gallagher Sharp LLP is looking for a motivated attorney to join the firm’s Cleveland office as part of our Transportation practice group and specifically railroad defense litigation. This role offers an opportunity for a qualified candidate to join a team of well-respected and highly skilled trial attorneys.
Required Qualifications
An active Ohio law license.
3+ years of civil litigation experience in state and federal courts.
Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Experience in all aspects of civil litigation, including investigating claims, preparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, managing expert witnesses, and motion practice.
Strong interpersonal skills, including effectively communicating with colleagues, clients, the court, and opposing counsel.
Ideal Qualifications
An interest in defending against railroad claims. Experience litigating general liability claims (personal injury, property damage, FELA claims, etc.) is also a plus.
A strong work ethic and an aptitude for learning and applying laws and regulations applicable to railroad or transportation litigation.
An interest in investigating claims, preparing and responding to written discovery, taking and defending depositions, managing expert witnesses, and all aspects of motion practice.
