Position Title: Executive Board Member – Healthcare Attorney (Volunteer/Executive Role)

About Tellegacy: Tellegacy is a leading intergenerational and Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) organization dedicated to improving quality of life, promoting meaningful connections, and enhancing healthcare outcomes for older adults through intentional, structured interactions. We desire to re-humanize healthcare, one interaction at a time. Our Case Manager Program provides specialized support addressing transitions of care, SDOH, and age-friendly initiatives, all while capturing and preserving legacy stories through intergenerational engagement.

Position Overview: Tellegacy is seeking a committed and experienced Healthcare Attorney to serve as an Executive Board Member. This critical role involves providing expert oversight and guidance to ensure our Case Manager Program aligns with state-specific healthcare compliance regulations, transitions of care requirements, and standards related to SDOH and intergenerational initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare law, compliance, policy structuring, and experience in regulatory oversight, particularly in Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursement frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert guidance on state and federal regulatory compliance related to transitions of care, intergenerational programming, and SDOH.
Advise the Tellegacy leadership team in strategic planning and structuring of healthcare compliance frameworks and procedures.
Regularly review and assess Tellegacy’s legal compliance in relation to healthcare regulatory standards.
Support the development and implementation of compliance policies to mitigate risks and optimize service delivery.
Participate actively in quarterly Executive Board meetings and occasional special sessions or strategic planning events.
Collaborate with other board members, healthcare partners, and community stakeholders to strengthen the program’s integrity and impact.

Qualifications:

JD degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one state (specific state licensure may be required based on program implementation).
Minimum of 5 years experience in healthcare law, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
Extensive knowledge of state-specific healthcare compliance requirements, especially relating to transitional care, Medicare/Medicaid policies, and Social Determinants of Health initiatives.
Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable strategies.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, comfortable engaging diverse stakeholders.
Previous board experience (preferred but not required).

Time Commitment:

Approximately 4-6 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings.
