Litigation Attorney – New York, NY
Well established mid-sized firm with close to 100 attorneys that focuses on insurance law matters.
Analyzing cases and conducting legal research to determine the best legal strategy.
Drafting legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and briefs.
Representing clients in court hearings, mediation, and arbitration.
Negotiating settlements and advising clients on the potential outcomes of their case.
Working with clients to gather evidence and prepare for trial.
Communicating with opposing counsel, judges, and other parties involved in the case.
Keeping abreast of changes in the law and legal trends that may affect their practice area.
Managing a caseload and meeting deadlines for court filings and other legal requirements.
Collaborating with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
Upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality at all times.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
3+ years’ experience working in a law firm or in-house within an insurance company.
Legal analysis, reasoning and writing, including the ability to quickly integrate and synthesize facts and law to make legally sound decisions in compressed time frames.
Ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments and competing priorities concurrently.
$200-220k + bonuses
