Job Description
What you will be doing:
Personally handle a file load of personal injury and medical malpractice cases
Extensive client interaction including intake and subsequent communications
Prepare demands and negotiate successful resolutions on behalf of clients
Attend and advocate for clients at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials
Independently research, interpret, and apply legal principles in the context of motion practice and litigation
Attend and participate in weekly team meetings relating to the evaluation and advancement of injury and malpractice cases
Work collaboratively with senior attorneys, junior attorneys, and paralegals in litigating complex medical negligence and serious injury cases
Active involvement in all phases of client representation from intake, initial office conferences, case development, demand, negotiation, and resolution
Experience you will need:
Five or more years of experience
Client focused experience – personally demonstrate that both external and internal clients are a high priority by identifying and responding to their needs in a timely and efficient manner
Experience in Personal Injury Litigation
Experience in Complex Litigation
Experience in Medical Malpractice Litigation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong academic credentials
Advanced analytical skills
Strong time management skills
Strong writing and oral communication skills
Strong legal research and writing skills
Fully licensed to practice law in Rhode Island. Licensing in Massachusetts, and/or Connecticut is a plus
