Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Navajo to English translator to assist with the accurate translation of confidential documents. This is a remote, contract-based position with flexible hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of both languages, a clear understanding of confidentiality standards, and the ability to deliver high-quality translations on a fast-paced timeline.
In addition to written translation, there may occasionally be live calls that require real-time interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate written materials from Navajo into English with precision, preserving tone, context, and meaning
Handle all materials with strict confidentiality and discretion
Review and proofread translations for clarity, accuracy, and completeness
Deliver translations promptly, often with short turnaround times
Be available for occasional live interpretation needs (scheduled in advance)
Collaborate with team members for clarification or context when needed
Qualifications:
Fluency in written and spoken Navajo and English
Proven experience in translation and/or live interpretation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to linguistic and cultural accuracy
Understanding and adherence to confidentiality practices and data privacy
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines
Preferred:
Experience legal or government content
Familiarity with handling sensitive or restricted materials
Availability for live or scheduled call interpretation
