Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our law office. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by managing various administrative tasks and assisting with legal documentation. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A background in Personal Injury is required and ability to fluently speak and understand Spanish.
Assist paralegals in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
Manage and maintain electronic and physical case files, ensuring all documents are organized and up to date.
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including client communications and court filings.
Maintain a filing system for legal documents, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and firm policies.
Assist with data entry and record-keeping in case management software.
Assist with preparation for arbitrations, mediations, and trial.
Assist with maintaining the attorney calendar.
Retrieve and review bills, records, and BRFs as needed for case preparation and client inquiries.
Retrieving information from the filing system when requested.
Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role in a personal injury law firm is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy law office setting.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
Fluent in Spanish
