THE VITAL ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE YOU’LL HAVE
As our Court Administrator – City Clerk, your day-to-day will be dynamic and impactful. You’ll be at the heart of city operations, performing a wide array of duties that keep our local government running smoothly. As City Clerk, you will assist the Mayor and City Council with administrative support, attend meetings, and ensure that all public records are properly managed. You’ll oversee business license applications, ensure compliance with city codes, and manage building permit inquiries. In your role as Court Administrator, you’ll process court filings, manage citations, and coordinate with judges, attorneys, and the public. From handling court records and payments to assisting with special events and community services, your role will be vital in ensuring the seamless operation of the city’s functions. Work Schedule:
Full-time
Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
High school diploma
3+ years of relevant experience
Familiarity with city codes, policies, and procedures
Understanding of state retention laws
Understanding of the Justice Court system and terminology
Knowledge of clerking practices
Knowledge of budgeting
Basic supervisory and managerial knowledge
Basic accounting skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Ability to make quick, critical decisions
Ability to catalog and file public records according to state laws
Ability to prepare and process records for long-term storage
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Great organizational skills
Valid Utah driver’s license and a good driving record
Having your Justice Court Clerk certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire would be a plus!
