Position Background

The firm operates a defence practice within the court system, managing treatment courts and specialty dockets aimed at steering criminal defendants toward rehabilitation. With their own office in the courthouse, the team handles approximately 1,200 cases annually.
Their expertise in drug and alcohol-related matters has led to broader representation in family and employment law, as well as professional licensure complaints—often involving substance abuse concerns. The firm also engages in public interest litigation and is poised for growth in areas like dispute resolution and civil rights plaintiff work.

Requirements
Onsite in Wichita, Kansas
Company provides relocation assistance
Must have a Bar license in Kansas, or must have 6 years experience practicing outside of Kansas to opt in to the Kansas bar.
Must Have Juris Doctor.
Military experience a nice plus.
Should have crim defense, prosecutor or public defender background.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough legal research utilizing tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
Draft legal documents and correspondence with precision, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Advise clients on various legal matters, including estate planning, family law, and landlord-tenant disputes.
Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court as needed, demonstrating strong advocacy skills.
Maintain organized case files and documentation to facilitate efficient legal processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
