Litigation Associate – Media & Intellectual Property
A nationally recognized boutique law firm is seeking a 3rd–4th year Litigation Associate to join its Media, First Amendment, and Intellectual Property practice in New York.
This role offers significant responsibility from day one, including direct client contact, substantive litigation experience, and participation in pre-publication and pre-broadcast review matters. The practice handles cutting-edge disputes involving copyright, trademark, First Amendment, media, and commercial litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and support litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft motions, briefs, and other court filings
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
- Handle discovery, depositions, and motion practice
- Assist with pre-publication review and media counseling
- Appear in court and collaborate directly with clients and partners
Qualifications:
- J.D. and admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility for admission)
- 3–4 years of litigation experience
- Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Strong organizational and case-management abilities
- Interest in media, journalism, publishing, entertainment, or creative industries
Preferred:
- Media, First Amendment, copyright, trademark, or commercial litigation experience
- Judicial clerkship experience
- Background in journalism, publishing, writing, or content creation
