Whitman Legal Resources has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate to join a well-established boutique law firm located in Midtown Manhattan. Our client is seeking an attorney with 5–6 years of substantive commercial litigation experience who is comfortable handling matters with a high level of responsibility in a small, collaborative firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle a variety of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare written legal analyses.
- Manage discovery, including document review, production, and depositions.
- Assist with and participate in court appearances, hearings, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
- Manage multiple matters and deadlines independently while working closely with the firm’s attorneys.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
- Approximately 5–6 years of commercial litigation experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage matters and competing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on boutique law firm environment.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $150,000–$170,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
